Younique Addiction 4 Shadow Palette

Hello fellow beauty lovers! I am SO excited to be writing this post today! As I stated in my last post, I have become super interested in the brand Younique. With that being said, I have been waiting for quite a while to get my hands on this product! And now that I finally own it, I wanted to give my first thoughts and impressions on the Younique Addiction 4 Eye Shadow Palette. If you are interested in what I think about this palette so far, then let’s get to it, shall we?!

Alright guys, so as I stated before, if you haven’t heard of Younique, you must be living under a rock. This has to be one of the fastest growing cosmetics brands on the market today. It is an MLM type company, which is Yay or Nay for most people (If you are looking to become a presenter) but you know me – I just HAD to see what all the fuss was about. I was given their Mineral Powder foundation as a gift two years ago, and I have been super curious of their products and becoming a presenter ever since. A friend of mine recently became a presenter and wanted to ‘host a party’ for me during the 7 Days of Holiday Surprises that Younique was having. They bundled certain products together and gave discounts on said bundles so of course, I had to purchase one.

This is the bundle that I purchased. It came with the Addiction 4 Shadow Palette, the Angled Shadow/Sponge Brush and an adorable gift box!

So let’s chat about this beauty, shall we?!

There are 5 Addiction Shadow Palettes on the Younique website. 1 and 2 are your basic ‘nudes’ palette; 1 being more neutral and 2 being cooler toned. 3 has lots of stunning pinks and purples. 4 – We will get to in a minute. And 5 is much brighter with warmer shades of pinks and golds.

Now – Onto Addiction Shadow Palette 4. Look. At. Those. Shades. This palette is full of cool toned blues, browns and golds. Absolutely stunning. I have seen/heard a LOT of hype about this palette and how stunning it is in person. I knew after I saw a few looks using this palette that I absolutely had to purchase it. The blues are just perfect for winter.

So as you can see, there are 4 brown/gold shades and there are 3 blue shades. They all compliment each other beautifully. As for the formula, they are super creamy and buttery. When I was swatching them, I didn’t have an issue with pigmentation or having to build them up like crazy. The only issue I had was with the darkest blue shade. As you can see in the picture, it looks kind of muddy and not very pigmented. I feel that this is true of quite a few dark colours that I have tried. Of course, I am hoping that it will be better when I actually use it on my eyes, and I will definitely keep you guys posted.

But seriously, look at those shades. I am obsessed with 2nd shade from the top (Arrogant) and the beautiful ice blue shade (Honest). I would really like to do a tutorial or go live on Facebook to showcase this little beauty! I feel that Younique is all the rage right now – Why not jump on board?!

There are so many other products I would like to try, which is why I can’t help but think that I should become a presenter. If any of you reading this are presenters, please let me know what you think! Do you love it? Do you hate it? I have had some issues with MLM companies before but because this is a makeup brand, of course my mind pushes those thoughts to the side. If anyone has any insight, I would LOVE to hear it!

Side Note:

So – Last night (After writing this post during the day) I tried out some of the shades! I didn’t take any pictures because I was just playing around and the colours were kind of all over the place BUT this did not disappoint. I just used the brush that I received in the set and just kind of started to play. I put Arrogant in my crease as the transition shade. Added Brave in the crease for a bit of definition. Added Honest to the entire lid area. And put Cheerful on the outer half of my eye for some extra blue pop.

Right away, I noticed how pigmented these shadows are. I barely even touched the brush to Arrogant and it showed up like crazy on my eyes. On the first application, the shades seemed to be a bit muddy. But as I started to blend the shades out, they frigin blended like a DREAM! I only wore them for a few hours around my house so I can’t say much about the longevity, but again, I definitely plan on wearing these a lot this winter so I will keep you guys posted!

Okay guys – I guess that’s it for my first few thoughts and impressions on the Younique Addiction 4 Shadow Palette. I am assuming this Younique obsession will continue for a while so I am sure that I will have some other products to review. Again, if any of you are presenters, I would love to hear your thoughts! I hope you guys like this review and if you have been thinking about trying some Younique products, I highly recommend it!

Thanks for reading! Chat soon guys! Xoxox
