Hi everyone! And welcome back! Today we are going to be talking about what I received in my February Ipsy Glam Bag! I have had this bag for weeks now, but I really wanted to try some of the products out so I could give you a quick review of what I think. This may be the best Ipsy Bag I have received to date! I really like all the products I got and I feel like I will use them all as well! Want to see what I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag? Let’s get to it, shall we?!
To be honest, I have been considering cancelling my subscription to Ipsy. I LOVE the idea – 15$/ month and I receive 5 products; Most of which I haven’t even heard of and I get to try out these new products every month! However, I rarely love everything that I receive. There is usually one, sometimes two products that I like and can see myself using, but other than that – Most of the stuff just goes into one of my makeup drawers and is lost in the abyss.
But not this month! I was quite surprised when I received my bag this month. I did EVERYTHING in my power to make sure I didn’t get a sneak peak before the bag arrived at my house! So it was a complete surprise which was even more exciting seeing as I gave up purchasing makeup for Lent (I paid for this BEFORE Lent started so technically it’s not cheating!) I am super happy with all of the products, and I feel that I will use all of them! Let’s check out the products, shall we?!
Let’s discuss the bag first – You know that is one of my favourite parts! I think this bag is so cute. It has an emoji type feel to it, looking all pixelated, and the cute little heart. I like it, but I doubt I will be using it for anything else.
Okay – Here is a close up of the products I received! We’ll go from left to right.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer – So, I have heard a ton about this concealer on Social Media and YouTube. People LOVE this concealer! I was super pumped when I saw this was in my bag this month. I tested this out yesterday for the first time, here are my thoughts:
I was sent a shade that is basically the colour of my skin. I tend to use a lighter shade of concealer to help bring some lightness to the centre of my face. But I figured I could always use this, and then put a brightening powder on over top or even use a lighter concealer over top as well. The initial touch and feel of the concealer: it is THICK! Holy Moly! I can see why it covers up darkness or bags under the eyes – It could probably cover up tattoos, no problem! I tapped the concealer under my eye with my finger and it felt rather cakey. Maybe because I didn’t blend it out with my normal Beauty Blender, I’m not sure, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the way it felt. However, the coverage – DAMN! I don’t have crazy darkness or bags under my eyes, but I mean we all do in some form – And whatever it was, was COVERED! It remained pretty tacky, even after I set it with powder but I think that if I was wearing different foundation it would have sat better on my skin. All in all – This is a great product. I will definitely be using this on days when I don’t get enough sleep and need some serious coverage!
Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Desert Rose – I have never heard of this brand before but the colour of the blush immediately drew me in! (Not that you can tell in the picture…) But it is a beautiful dusty rose/peachy shade. This brand is also paraben free, talc free, all natural and vegan! This is so important to so many people today, that this is the perfect blush to put in my kit and use on clients! There is a bit of a shimmer in the blush, which I’m not the biggest fan of (especially for everyday ‘work’ makeup) but the colour is so pretty and goes on the skin so beautifully, that I can get over it! All in all, I really like this blush. I will definitely be looking into this brand a bit more.
Dr. Brant PoreDermabrasion – This is the product I was SUPER pumped about. I believe this was in NikkieTutorials January Favourites video and when I saw it in my Ipsy bag, I was thrilled! This product is supposed to deep clean pores, reduce the visibility of pores and smooth the skins texture … ALL THE THINGS I NEED! I have HUGE pores on my nose and tops of my cheeks. And no matter what primer or deep cleansing scrub I use, they are super visible. I do not use those blackhead removing strips, because they aggravate my super sensitive skin and make me break out like no other, so I tend to gravitate towards scrubs or deep cleansers. I am HOPING this works as good as people say it does. I have only used it once (Seeing as the bottle says you have to give three days in between uses) and clearly you won’t be able to see results after one use BUT it made my skin feel super soft and didn’t break me out at all which is a BONUS! I will definitely be using this steady and I am really looking forward to updating you guys on the results!
My Amazing Leave In Hair Secret – I am not really a huge fan of getting hair products in my Ipsy bag seeing as I am a makeup addict, but sometimes it’s a nice change. I don’t normally use leave-in conditioners because my hair gets greasy super quickly, so I try to avoid conditioners of any type but lately I have started to use these types of products on the ends of my hair. I straighten my hair almost every day, and the ends of my long hair take a beating, so anything that can help with keeping my hair healthy without a ton of split ends is amazing! This product is supposed to repair dry, damaged hair, penetrate the cuticle of the hair to keep is smooth, shiny and strong, repair split ends and control frizz. All of that stuff sounds good to me! I used this last night after I washed my hair and it made my hair feel so soft! I think I will continue to use this product – It can’t hurt, right?!
And last but not least: The Luxie Beauty Small Tapered Blending Brush 231 – I have not yet received any brushes or tools of any kind in an Ipsy bag and I was super excited to see this one! Honestly, you can never have too many blending brushes! And this one is so pretty! Light pink handle with rose gold, it is also vegan and cruelty free – Perfect for my kit – and it is so soft! I used this very quickly last night just to see what I thought and it was a beauty! Helped make my smoky eye flawless! I will definitely be checking out this brand more – Possibly buying some more brushes!
Okay – That is all for my February Ipsy Bag! I am super excited about these products so my Ipsy subscription will last another month! 😉 Do you subscribe to Ipsy? What did you receive in your bag this month? Do you love your products as much as I do?! Let me know!
