Hi guys! Thanks for coming back! I am so excited about this post! As I mentioned, I decided to subscribe for the Ipsy Bag and yesterday I received my first one! YAY! Wanna see what was in it? Keep reading! So, for those who don’t know, the Ipsy Glam Bag is a monthly makeup subscription. When you sign up, you are asked a bunch of different questions; Eye colour, hair colour, skin tone, what your makeup style is, what brands you like, how comfortable you are with makeup and so on! And then every month they send you a bunch of different sample makeup products!
Here is what was in my first bag!
First things first, how cute is the bag that the products come in?! When I opened the package and pulled out the bag, even my fiancé said ‘What’s that? It’s cool!’ .. Of course when I told him it was makeup, he was a little less enthused!
Here’s a breakdown of what I received in the Ipsy Glam Bag:
- Dermelect ME Peptide Infused Lacquer in ‘Commando’
- tre’Stique Mini Matte Lip Crayon in ‘Florence Fig’
- Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara
- Be a Bombshell Eye liner in ‘Wild Child’
- Albertini International Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask
So, to be honest, I haven’t heard of any of these brands (Except for Smashbox, of course). But that’s the fun about the Ipsy bag; Getting to try new brands and products. But seeing as I don’t know the products already, I did a little research on them.
Dermelect ME Peptide Infused Lacquer: This product is good for fragile, weak nails. It is infused with hydrolyzed keratin peptides, a pure protein extracted from New Zealand’s sheep’s wool, to provide a level of strength and shine, as well as making the nails more resistant to chipping, peeling and splitting. This is perfect for me when I don’t have acrylic nails as my nails are very weak and peel easily. Also, the colour is awesome! It’s like a dark nude; Right up my alley!
tre’Stique Mini Matte Lip Crayon: This is a buttery soft, rich, matte lip pencil infused with Vitamin E and Monoi Tahiti Butter for moisture and antioxidant properties. Honestly, I didn’t love this colour. The colour they sent me looked like a darker type of nude, which I normally would love. But when I put it on my lips, it was much more of a ‘spice’ kind of colour. A little too orangey for my taste. But the formula was great; very light weight and buttery!
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara: This is the product I was most excited about! I love trying new mascaras of any brand and I had heard really good things about this one, so I couldn’t wait to try it. And let me tell you, it DID NOT disappoint! This is a combination of lengthening fibres and a volumizing formula for the best of both worlds! No clumps or flakes, just gorgeous lashes! And they are indeed! The brush is huge which I love! And it really does make my lashes look long and luscious!
Be A Bombshell Eyeliner in ‘Wild Child’: Honestly, who couldn’t use a good black eye liner? This product is said to be super bold and easy to apply. I can’t tell you for sure, as I haven’t used it yet, but I did test it out on my hand and with one swipe, it was BLACK! I don’t normally use eye liner that isn’t liquid or gel, but if this product goes on my eyes like it went on my hand, I would seriously consider converting!
And last but not least, Albertini International Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask: I’m not going to lie to you, I will probably never use this product. I have very terrible skin and even looking at new face care products makes me break out! I have a tried and true, ride or die, routine that I am very skeptical to change. However, the description says that it stimulates new cell growth with a warm and fragrant mask. And that it can improve skins texture and smoothness after the FIRST application! That is a bold statement; Almost enough so to make me want to try it.. Just once. We’ll have to see!
Anyways, that’s it for my Ipsy Glam Bag break down. I am super excited to try these products as well as to see what is sent to me next month! What did you guys get in your Ipsy bag this month? Let me know if you like or dislike your products!
